Tuface Idibia, Battled by Kinsmen During Father’s Burial over Road Construction

According to a report from DailyPost, Pop star Tuface Idibia, siblings and mother who recently buried their late father peacefully might be in a serious loggerhead with their community, Amafu in Okpokwu LGA of Benue State as the villagers had vowed to hold Tuface and his siblings hostage for refusing to complete his house in the village. In fact, Tuface's mum, Mrs. Rose Idibia narrowly escaped death on Thursday night after she was attacked by her husband's kinsmen for not allowing Tuface to complete his house in the village.

The problem started after Mr. Idibia breathed his last in faraway India and the family invited the four children to inform them of what to do. It was revealed learnt that one of the conditions given by the Idibia family was for Tuface to build a befitting house where his father would be laid to rest, since he is the star among them.

It was also gathered that the immediate family members pleaded with the children to grade the road leading to Amufu, their home town from Ojapo for easy access during the burial. Tuface, it was learnt agreed and promised to do as they had demanded.

To keep to his promise, the singer sent in some money and the building project and the upgrading of the road kick started almost immediately. The development made all residents to go ballistic as several prayers and encomiums were poured on their proud son, Innocent, popularly known as Tuface.

It was gathered that some farmers, whose crops were close to the roads were asked to uproot their crops to enable the project move freely; this they did with all enthusiasm and without grudges.

However, along the line, the projects suddenly stopped, leaving the people, including Tuface's uncles in the dark.

When Tuface was contacted, he allegedly told them he no longer had money to continue the project and that he would continue after his father's burial. His kinsmen allegedly vowed never to lay the deceased to rest until Tuface fulfilled his promise.

Those who were not satisfied with Tuface's excuse embarked on investigation and discovered that it was his mum, Rose that allegedly stopped him from completing the project. "The mum told him not to waste his money on any building, that he would not come home anytime to stay there; that his uncles would only take over the house once he completes it", an indigene who craved anonymity told this reporter.

Several efforts to convince Tuface to continue the project hit the rocks, prompting the people to take the revenge on him and his mum as soon as they returned with the corpse. It was revealed that as soon as the corpse touched down in Amufu and the widow alighted, youths in the area began to jeer her.

Others were seen throwing stones and sticks at her, calling her all sort of names depicting a wicked person. Some mockingly called her 'Obu Michael' (Michael's husband) while others said she must pay for the crops they uprooted.

She was sneaked into a room by her colleagues from Cherryfield College, Jikwoyi where she serves as Vice Principal. Not yet done, when the pal bearers tried to take the casket inside, the youths again revolted that the corpse should be kept outside.

The women in the village also insisted that a hut should be built for the widow, Mrs. Idibia since her husband had no house in the village. This protest lasted for hours before it was brought under control by elders in the village.
While this lasted, Tuface stayed glued inside his car with two of his kids, Isabella and Olivia, with security men fully on guard as the youths vowed to beat him up for listening to his mum.

When the Priest in charge of St. Camel Catholic Church, Ojapo invited Mrs. Idibia to explain her own side of the story, she blasted her in-laws for being heartless by calling on a child, who is mourning to come and build a house in the village.

According to a visibly angry Mrs. Idibia, who hails from Ogege, Amafu's next door neighbour, it was unfair that the people were accusing her of stopping her son from building in his own town. She explained that if she were against the project, she wouldn't have allowed Tuface to start in the first place.

"Is it not wickedness that you would call on someone who is mourning his father to come and start a building project? When my husband died, they informed my son to come and build ten bed room flat. He accepted and promised to do so, with the hope that a huge amount of money was coming his way. The building project started almost immediately but stopped along the line because of finance.
So, when they called to complain that money was no longer coming, I called Tuface and he said because of the Ebola issue, the money he was expecting could not come, that they should hold on till after the burial. But his uncles refused, insisting that the burial would not hold until Tuface completed the house.

"When we finally came home with the corpse on Thursday, they began to boo me. Some wanted to kill me by throwing stones and sticks at me, that I stopped Tuface my son from building in his village", she explained amidst tears.

The cleric in his reponse told Mrs. Idibia that the people were not wrong for demanding for a house, but that they went too far by jeering and hulling stones at her.

He, however, pleaded with the Idibias to exercise patience until after the burial since the children won't run away.

Pa. Idibia was finally laid to rest but the community is insisting that Tuface must complete the building or he would remain in the village.

A villager told our reporter that Tuface, the second son of Mr. Idibia, was almost beaten by some youths the last time he came to the village for his grand mother's burial, for abandoning his people.

It was learnt that Tuface refused to invite any of his star friends because of the humiliation he always faced in his home town.

Only his manager, Efe Omoregbe and few bouncers came for the burial.

However, a Rev. Father, who would not want his name in print, lambasted the Amufu community for being so wicked by forcing a man to build a house.

"I have never seen where someone is being forced to build a house in his village. Do they know his statement of account? Is it because Tuface is popular? Is he a politician, why are they forcing him to grade the community road? Is he the local government chairman? They better stop this nonsense. This kind of culture is total rubish and must be stopped", he warned.

Another resident flayed Tuface for listening to his mum by not completing the projects.

"See, let the truth be told, I am ashamed. Imagine Tubaba of all people facing this kind of humiliation. How much will it cost him to build a house here in the village? I am sure he has houses outside the state. That to me is not fair. Go to Otukpa and see the mansion Terry G built there. His parents are not in the village but he did so in case of tomorrow.

When Tuface's manager, Efe Omoregbe, was contacted, he denied knowledge of the development.

"Bros, I don't know what you are talking about", he said.

Governor Fashola Talks About His Political Ambition

Having six months left for his tenure to end, Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State said he did not know what his next step in politics would be during an interview with Channels Television.

Fashola, noted that in spite of the efforts of the Peoples Democratic Party to take over Lagos State, his party, the All Progressives Congress, would retain Lagos State in 2015.

Governor Fashola when asked what his next step in politics would be, answered by saying, "I don't know honestly. I do well in multitasking. I have a job to do that runs until May 2015. And up till now people haven't stopped asking me and my government for services. My mandate expires on the 29th of May and I'm going to give my best shot until the very final hour."

He added that that he hoped that his successor would be able to do better than he has done.

On whether he would influence the emergence of the next governor of Lagos, Fashola said it was left for the electorate to decide.

"I've met those who are running for governor on the platform of my party and I think all of them are good enough to lead us but the ultimate choice of who will lead us will depend on the larger body polity and the registered voters," he said.

On the ongoing distribution of permanent voter cards in the state, Fashola said the Independent National Electoral Commission has shown that it was poised to do the bidding of some political interests.

Apparently referring to the INEC Chairman, Prof. Attahiru Jega, the governors said "if you take a job you cannot do, resign."

"I don't know what else an electoral commission would be doing after an election other than to be planning for the next election. Let me be fair and admit that election planning is a very huge logistics. I know election do not achieve 100 per cent. That is why election monitors look out for a minimum standard; not what the umpire says but what the participants say. If the foundation of the election which is the voters' registration is faulty then we may be heading for trouble."

"This is what should have been over four years. When INEC started this exercise, they started with six states; another six states and one expected that they would get better. Suddenly, they took 12 states at the same and halfway they said they were abandoning some states. What kind of message are you sending? Look at the states involved Lagos, Kano and Rivers, in the South-South, easily the largest in that area. Ogun State, densely populated, sharing borders with Lagos. These make up a significant voting population."

How Majek Fashek Was Bounced Off Stage

Although, the annual Felabration may have come and gone, but memories of happenings at the well-attended event linger on the mind of many that thronged out to have fun during the one-week long concert. Every year, many anticipate this massive event, which attract people from all over the world.

It is no news that at Felabration, various sizes of wrapped 'weeds' are consumed. An asthmatic patient dares not go near African Shrine, venue of the show, except the person is on a suicide mission. Even on a normal day, an asthma patient would not be advised to take a tour to the place.

On Friday, October 17, 2014, many fun-seekers were at the Felabration to watch different artistes entertain them and they were not disappointed.

However, when it was time for the acclaimed 'rainmaker', Majek Fashek, to thrill his fans with his golden tunes, the unexpected happened. Just as he mounted the stage, he began to stagger and starting saying some words that sounded incoherent.

When some of the anxious fans could not take it any further, MC of the event, Omo Baba No 1, and two other dudes, asked the veteran musician to leave the stage, though he left grudgingly. But this did not make the event to turn out very successful.

SYNAGOGUE BUILDING COLLAPSE:WITNESSES VINDICATE CHURCH AS CORONER ALLAYS FEARS OF PROSECUTION

As proceedings continue at the Coroner's Inquest into the cause of the building collapse at The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations (SCOAN), more clarifications are emerging concerning the true circumstances surrounding the sad event of September 12, 2014. On Wednesday, October 29, 2014, marking the fourth day of the inquest, two witnesses testified under cross-examination on major grey areas concerning the collapse.

The state pathologist, Professor Obafunwa who was cross-examined under oath by one of the counsels to The SCOAN, Ojo Olalekan, upheld that it was not appropriate for anyone to state categorically whether or not there was a blast leading to the collapse, contrary to reports in some sections of the media claiming that he had ruled out the theory of explosion as cause of the collapse. He added that it was premature to make conclusions since the final report was still being expected.
The pathologist also admitted to have conducted autopsies on only two bodies on the 22nd of September, 2014, precisely ten days after the incident. Reacting to the question as to whether he took samples of debris from the site of the collapse to ascertain the cause, Prof Obafunwa posited that it was not his duty to ascertain the cause of the collapse.

According to Olalekan, any attempt at preempting the complexion of the final report amounts to speculation, which negates the essence of the inquest. The session which commenced at exactly 9:04 am had the courtroom filled to capacity with counsels from The SCOAN, the Lagos State Government, representatives of interested parties as well as journalists from the local and international media.

The presiding magistrate, Justice Oyetade Komolafe maintained that the inquest is purely a fact-finding mission aimed at preventing future recurrences of building collapse. He urged the witnesses to testify in good faith and with the greatest regard to their conscience, observing that there was no intention to witch-hunt or prosecute anybody. Similarly, while expressing his satisfaction with proceedings at the sitting, lead counsel to The SCOAN, Lateef Fagbemi (SAN) observed: "I am just relying on the assurances by the coroner that they are not prosecuting anybody but on a fact-finding mission. And we have responsibilities and duties to assist in that area. And that is what we are doing".

Meanwhile, the witness representing the Nigerian Red Cross, Mr. Oladimeji Ige, while testifying, affirmed that during rescue operations after the collapse, he and his team enjoyed the co-operation of members of The SCOAN, who had thronged the scene of the incident passionately assisting in the rescue efforts. He also refuted widespread allegations in some quarters that members of the church barred rescue operators from carrying out their statutory duties at the scene of the incident:

"Immediately I got the emergency calls, I beckoned on my team and about 45 people responded to the clarion call. Personally, I got there at 5pm but my members had been on the site working ahead. When I got to the main entrance, the church officials quickly let me in and at the entrance of the gate to the site, I saw officials of relevant agencies like NEMA and LASEMA. We worked all round the clock. Sincerely, the church assisted us by providing 10 ambulances because the only one we had came to the scene on the second day which was Saturday, 13 September, 2014.
Yes, I admit that the church authorities were good and helpful to us. They were so passionate about the rescue operations. And I can tell you categorically that they never stopped us from doing our job. Rather, their efforts really covered our inadequacies". Ige's version of events contradicted the account of Mr Ibrahim Farinloye who alleged that NEMA and other rescue operators were barred from performing their duties by members of The SCOAN.

Interestingly, different groups of people, including the disabled and destitute, stormed the court premises with different placards requesting the court not to be a tool in the hands of some mischievous people who might want to scuttle the truth. Some of the placards had inscriptions such as "TB JOSHUA IS THE REAL VICTIM, STOP ADDING TO HIS PAINS", "GIVE US ANSWERS ABOUT THE MISSING JETS THAT HOVERED OVER THE STRUCTURE" and "STOP CHASING SHADOWS AND FACE THE FACTS".

The sitting was adjourned to the following day being Thursday, October 30, 2014.

9ice Changes Campaign Poster After NFC Criticism

In Nigeria, the media that's suppose to be the watchdog of the society has been turned into something else, it has not been so due to some factors.

Few days ago, Nigeriafilms.com's Osaremen Ehi James put up an article pointing out an error in the campaign poster of 9ice, who is aiming to become a member of the House of Representatives, representing the good people of Ogbomosho in Oyo State.

Read It HERE

In the said poster, the signoff message was written as 'Ogbomosho Must BeRenew' instead of 'Ogbomosho Must BeRenewed'.

After the said article, Nigeriafilms.com has observed that the necessary correction has been made to the signoff message and the latest official campaign poster now has the corrected version.

This, we wish to commend and let 9ice know that we have no ill-feeling against him. In fact, we are in support of his career as we have always done. Nigeriafilms.com, as a responsible media organisation, would continue to serve as the society's watchdog, even in our imperfections, no matter whose ox is gored.

Lawyer Festus Keyamo petitions SSS, IGP over threat to kill him by Tompolo

Just received this petition which was sent to the IG of Police and SSS from lawyer and rights activist Festus Keyamo about an alleged threat to his life. Read below...

Threat to kill Mr. Festus Keyamo by Mr. Government Ekpemupolo (Alias Tompolo)
My name is Festus Keyamo. I am a Nigerian citizen and a senior member of the legal profession in Nigeria.
At exactly 10:13pm on Tuesday, October 28, 2014, I received a telephone call from one Mr. Government Ekpemupolo (alias Tompolo) with phone number (I removed the number). We have been acquaintances in the past, so I know his numbers. After reaffirming that he isTompolo when I picked his call, he went straight to the point by informing me that he wishes to inform me that he and his “boys” will kill me by beating me to death or shooting me anywhere they can find me. And that the hunt for me is on. His exact words in pidgin English was “we dey look for you. Anywhere we see you, whether for Lagos or Abuja or Warri, we go beat you die or we go shoot you.”
He said he would kill me because I have decided to take up the matter involving his blood brother, Mr. George Ekpemupolo, who was used to illegally substitute another candidate, Mr. Weyinmi Omadeli (48 hours to the election) in the Warri South-West L.G.A elections that were concluded last Saturday in Delta State. He said no one has ever challenged his authority in Delta State. Kindly find attached the open letter I wrote to Governor Uduaghan of Delta State yesterday which has sparked Tompolo’s determination to kill me.
I asked Tompolo FIVE TIMES whether, he was, in fact, threatening my life over an open line and he said nobody in the country can do anything about it by the time I am dead.
Co-incidentally, exactly three minutes after Tompolo dropped his line, His Excellency, Governor Udaughan called me at exactly 10.16pm, and I reported to him what just transpired between Tompolo and myself. The Governor promised to speak with him, but that cannot be reassuring enough, and I know the remedy in law against an intended murderer is not to beg him but to ignite the criminal justice system against him, no matter how comatose that system is.
I know the subject of this petition, Tompolo, is a favoured citizen of this government, and I am not. I know Tompolo is close to those in power at the moment, whereas I am an ordinary citizen. I know Tompolo has money and influence (which are factors that are widely acknowledged to aid a suspect walk away with murder in Nigeria), but I have none of these. I know Tompolo has instrument to kill human beings, and I have none.
In the circumstance, I am making this petition public so that when you refuse to attend to my complaint and outcry, the ordinary people of this country will, at least, know from where my death came and I will not join the long list of unresolved murders. My killer, should, at least be known.
Thank you for, at least, reading my petition.
Yours sincerely,

FESTUS KEYAMO, ESQ.

MTN Nigeria Loses 80,000 Subscribers

MTN, Nigeria's largest mobile operator with over fifty eight million subscribers, reportedly lost about eighty thousand Nigerian subscribers for the third quarter ending thirty September 2014.

The quarterly update that was released last week indicates that the Mobile Telecommunication Giant in Nigeria is losing out. The firm recorded 58.363,000 million subscribers, a figure below the 58.446,000 million subscribers it rumored within the second quarter.

MTN said the decline on regulative restrictions, a 'dominant operator' ruling – the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has vulnerable sanctions on the communications gaint for abusing its dominant position within the country's telecommunications market – and even instability in Nigeria's northern areas that is basically suffering from the Boko Haram attacks.

Meanwhile, Nigerian losses were alleviated by South African gains. MTN's South African operations came back to the amount, adding 1.4 million internet additions for the quarter, increasing its subscriber base by 5.7% to 26.7 million.

If God is Good, Then Why Did He Banish Satan (Evil) to the Earth?

A few weeks ago, I met a lady who saw my cross and snickered. Soon enough, she asked if I was a believer or if my cross was just a fashion statement. When I told her I loved Jesus, she said to me "Well, I don't believe in God". When I asked why not, she said "I can't believe in a Being that would allow Satan on earth. Tell me this, if God is good, then why allow Satan access to us in the first place".

Good question I said. It seems that you know something of God. Yes, she said. I was raised church but I have now moved beyond all that. I don't believe in God anymore. I asked if she would give me a shot at an answer. She said I would be wasting my time. I told her I would anyway.

Below is the gist of what I discussed with her.

Though the Bible does not explicitly say, it is not far-fetched to believe that Satan's unhappiness with God reached a crescendo when God decided to create man in His image and made him the ruler of the earth. Satan, who was never satisfied with leading a third of the angels of heaven, but was hungry for more power and was tempted to overthrow God, looked at the earth with longing eyes as God made it.

He must have said to himself, "Finally, I am going to get a place to call my own and rule over. I am now going to be like God. It is about time God came to His senses. He knows I have been eyeing His throne and He has surely seen it. So He has decided to create the earth and give it to me. Finally, I will have my own place!"

Satan so wanted the earth that he had earlier tried to kill the child that was born to rule all the hosts of the earth beforehand (Revelations 12:4).

Now that the earth was being formed by the Word of God, he was sure that his time had come! When Satan heard that man was being made in the image of God – the image of love, faith, and authority – enough was enough. He must have said to his belligerent self,
"Is it not enough that I have to serve God, now I have to serve man? Why should I have to serve a being that was created after me? He does not care about me at all. Why not just place me and my angels on the earth to rule? Why not give me what He knows I want?"

Satan was outraged! So he (who is called the accuser of the brethren) approached the throne of grace and brought an accusation against God. He gave God a piece of his and accused Him of being unjust and uncaring. Of course, God knew the character of Satan and knew the content of his dead heart. In turn, Satan in his blind ambition thought he was making a good case to God. In truth, all he did was reveal the extent to which pride and greed had consumed him. He revealed that he had no ounce of love but was filled with evil. (Note: Evil sacrifices all things to achieve its self-seeking end). God could and would not allow such a creature to have dominion. For God to have allowed that would have made God unloving. Furthermore, the end of such a rule would be pandemonium for the creatures subjected to Satan's rule.

Since God is holy and without blemish, Satan was no longer fit to live in the presence of God – once the iniquity of pride, greed, and self-seeking was found in him (see Ezekiel 28:14- 17). After this episode, God had to do something with Satan. Being merciful, God decided not to destroy Satan and his co conspirators (a third of the angels of heaven) – the price that his iniquity deserved. Instead, He decided in His goodness to banish Satan and his gang to the earth!

In making this decision, God executed both justice and mercy at the same time. First, He was loving and merciful in that He did not destroy Satan (His own creation). Wow!That God would show even Satan mercy reveals how big God's heart is towards all creation. Second, He was just in that He punished Satan by banishing him to the earth – away from His presence.

Now, He not only banished him away from His presence, He banished him into the presence of man. Since man had been given rulership and dominion over all things on earth, God in effect made Satan subject to the rule of man.

"I cast you to the ground (earth), I laid you before kings (men), That they might behold (see, discern, take heed of) you" – Ezekiel 28:17b

In other words, God said to Satan, "I see that you do not like Me because I created man. I also see that you do not like man because he is created in My image. Well, you will now be subjected to the rule of the creation that you revile so much for absolutely no reason. I will not mete out the destroy your sin deserves just yet. You do not like My rule you say! Well, I will let man rule over you!"

Instead of counting his lucky stars and thanking God for sparing him from destruction, Satan exploded with anger. Instead of accepting God's judgment, he started a war in heaven and tried to force his way into power. Thankfully, Michael and his host of angels were able to defeat Satan and his gang (see Revelations 12:7:8). So Satan was booted out of heaven kicking and screaming! He landed on the earth having great anger towards both God and man (see Revelations 12:12).

So why did God banish Satan to the earth? He did it to punish Satan stripping him of his former glory and to subject him to the rule of the creation he hated so much.

She said she had not heard that before. Long story short, we proceeded to talk about this blog and she said she would visit. I hope she is finding answers. I hope I planted a seed on good ground that day.

PHOTOS: HOT Female Gym Teacher Caught Sleeping With Young Student Multiple Times. INSIDE CATHOLIC SCHOOL

When Megan Mahoney offered to coach one of her young, male students in basketball, she apparently had more than athletics in mind.
The 24-year-old Catholic school teacher from Staten Island has been charged with 30 counts of statutory rape and four of criminal sexual acts for her relationship with a 16-year-old student, which happened between October 2013 and January 2014.

Mahoney, who was the assistant athletic director and assistant girls' basketball coach at Moore Catholic High School, began a months-long affair when she offered to give the teen a little extra help with basketball.

She and the student engaged in sex at least twice a week, and oral sex several times a month, according to police.

The tryst came to a sudden end when the teen's ex-girlfriend called the police after spotting Mahoney and the student eating out at a local pizza parlor. The student had also bragged about his conquests to his friends.
When officials informed the school in January, Mahoney promptly resigned from her job and Moore reportedly expelled the student.

Mahoney has since been released without bail until her trial date can be scheduled.

Total CEO dies in Moscow airport accident

The charismatic Chief Executive Officer of Total, Christophe de Margerie, was killed at a Moscow airport when his private jet collided with a snowplow whose driver was drunk, Russian investigators said Tuesday.

Three French crew members also died when the French-made Dassault Falcon 50 burst into flames after it hit the snowplow during takeoff from Moscow's Vnukovo airport at 11:57pm Monday local time.

Tatyana Morozova, an official with the Investigative Committee, Russia's main investigative agency, said investigators are questioning the snowplow driver, who was not hurt, as well as air traffic controllers and witnesses.

"At the current time, it has been established that the driver of the snowplow was in a state of alcoholic intoxication," Morozova said.
De Margerie, 63, was a regular fixture at international economic gatherings and one of the French business community's most outspoken and recognizable figures. His trademark silver handlebar earned him the nickname "Big Mustache."

A critic of sanctions against Russia, he argued that isolating Russia was bad for the global economy.

He traveled regularly to Russia and recently dined in Paris with a Putin ally who is facing European Union sanctions over Russia's involvement in the crisis in Ukraine.

According to the Kremlin, Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a telegram to his French counterpart Francois Hollande, lauding de Margerie for being at the "origins of the many major joint projects that have laid the basis for the fruitful cooperation between Russia and France in the energy sphere for many years."

Hollande expressed his "stupor and sadness" at the news.

In a statement, he praised de Margerie for defending French industry on the global stage, and for his "independent character and original personality."

Man Gets Caught With Five Wives, Seven Fiancées And Five Girlfriends

Sonko Tijan once joked that Austrians couldn't tell black men apart. He was proven wrong after a little social media research led investigators to his five wives, seven fiancées and at least five girlfriends, none of whom were aware of one another.

The 28-year-old, originally from Gambia, was caught in his own web of lies after his pregnant wife did a Facebook search of their last name.

She spotted photos of a man who looked just like Tijan in another woman's profile picture. He even shared the same name.

It was only downhill from there. Austrian detectives worked with Tijan's wives to uncover links to women across Austria and Africa.

Tijan has at least six children by different women, and his 16 conquests range between the ages of 22 and 44.

Tijan reportedly used the women for lodging and money, pulling them in with a false story about how he'd escaped violence in war-torn Africa before he would ask for funds.

He even asked a few for their jewelry. If the women questioned him, he simply disappeared.

Once detectives understood the magnitude of Tijan's scheme, they began to fear that he was on the lookout for new victims. With the help of Facebook, it became clear that Tijan was picking up new girls.

Police worked with one of Tijan's women and asked her to lend Tijan more money. The cops pounced when he arrived.

Tijan has reportedly set the record for bigamy in Austria. Tijan should spend a little time with the man who fathered 34 children by different women to learn his lesson.

CONFESSION OF AN ALLEGED SERIAL KILLER: I've killed 60 people People In Ogun State Arrested; Read His Confession

At 33, Alawunmi Oluwafemi means different things to different people. For members of Aye fraternity which is also known as the black movement of Africa, he is known as an immortal assassin. To parents, he is their worst nightmare because of the number of young men and women that had fallen to his bullets while to the police in Ogun State, he is one of the most wanted criminals who have kept them on their toes as a result of his exploits in the state. The mystery surrounding the suspect's invincibility, however, ended last week on a day the annual Ojude Oba festival was going on in the ancient city of Ijebu Ode.

According to Sun Newspaper, Oluwafemi now in police custody and in a sober mood, told the story of his life especially the powers he wielded as an axe man in the underworld and how he has hacked down more than 60 victims....

Read his story when you continue....

Saturday Sun learnt that he was arrested by operatives of the Special Anti Robbery Squad, Ogun State police command after a gun battle.

The hunt

The inability to arrest the suspect led to the transfer of several police area commanders out of Ijebu Ode.

Disturbed by his exploits, the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Ikemefuna Okoye directed the SARS team to relocate to Ijebu-Ode and fish Oluwafemi out at all costs. As a result, the team led by SP Mohammed Tijiani eventually succeeded in tracking down 'the big fish' on October 6 during the Ojude Oba festival.

According to CP Ikemefuna, members of Oluwafemi's gang put up a resistance and a gun battle ensued. Eventually, he was arrested after he was shot in the leg.

"He is not only a cultist but also a serial killer. He has confessed that he had led his gang to kill not less than 60 people", Ikemefuna stated.

Subdued, the suspect argued that the police were able to arrest him because his charms, which were always in his pocket, were left at home on the fateful day.

"I never knew that anyone will be looking for me on a day like this", he said.

Family Background

Just like most criminals, Oluwafemi is from a broken home. The little he could remember of his family was that of chaos which led to the exit of his mother when he was eight years old.

"When my mother left, I stayed back with my father and assisted him in the shrine. It was there that I knew how to make potent charms. After his death in the 90s, I moved over to stay with my mother who also died years later. I had no choice but to move over and live with my maternal grandmother who is based in Ondo. She also died few years after I moved in to stay with her. My only alternative was my paternal grandmother who is based in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State. It was in her house that I stayed and learnt how to cut wood and was able to secure a job in one of the sawmills.

"It was when she died that I knew that I had to survive by all possible means. I was able to get married but when my wife discovered that my lifestyle was not good, she left and followed another man. From that day till sometime in 2009, I have been in and out of different odd jobs just to make ends meet."

His initiation

In his so-called attempt to survive, Oluwafemi joined bad gangs.

"I needed to survive, so I did everything possible. Sometime in 2009, a friend of mine, Ahmed invited me over for a birthday party at Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State. At about 8pm, he asked me to escort him to see a friend who was also celebrating his birthday. I was surprised when he started entering a bush close to Olabisi Onabanjo University. I was about to ask him what his friend would be doing there, when some young men emerged from the bush and started beating me up.

"They overpowered me and threatened to shoot if I dare to run away. It was then that Ahmed told me that I was actually on my way to participate in the Aye initiation ceremony. There were so many of us who were beaten. They blindfolded us and marched us further into the bush. It was when we finally stopped that I saw the crowd of young men who came for the initiation, most of them were students. They kept beating us and forced us to lie on the floor, while they marched on our bodies.

"Later, they brought kolanut and pierced our hands with razor blade. We were forced to eat the kolanut mixed with our blood as a sign of oath-taking. We were given new names and mine was Aye Skyppo. At about 4am, we were handed over to those who brought us to the initiation camp", he narrated.

Orientation

After initiation, Oluwafemi said he was taken away by his friend who took him to a house where he took his bath and changed his dress. He was then taught some of the things he needed to know as a member of the Aye fraternity cult.

"It is known as orientation, where the person who introduced you will tell you the rules and regulations. The first and most important is that if you reveal their secret, you will die. The members of the cult will hunt you down and kill you. I was also taught some of the nicknames used among cult members. For instance, to shoot means to light someone up. If you hear a sentence like, Femi light him up, it means that you should shoot. Gun is known as four, fire as erayo, matchet as meche, freedom as axe, stab as enter, cartridge as red nut."

Beginning of bloodbath

He claimed that he was advised to secure a gun for his personal safety.

"Sometime in 2010, there was a clash between Aye and another cult group known as Eiye. One of our members who was a student was killed, and there was a mandate to hack down anyone who is from Eiye. "I was always going around with a gun, anytime there is crisis. I bought it at a price of N12,500 from Ondo State. This was necessary in case there was any attack. In 2010 during Olabisi Onabanjo University matriculation ceremony, we were assigned to retaliate.

As soon as we spotted one Eiye member who was vulnerable, we attacked and stabbed him till the police rescued him. He later died on the way while most of us were arrested and remanded in prison. I was in prison for a year and some months before I was granted bail. The case was later struck out because it was a cultism case and since I had spent sometime in the prison, I was free to go."

Back home, Oluwafemi claimed that he wanted to stay completely away from the group but when Ahmed learnt that he was free, he tracked him down.

"Ahmed told me that if I stay away from them, I would be endangering my life as the other cult group might come after me since I had already stained my hands with their blood. I had no choice but to go back but I decided to fortify myself. My late father was a native doctor and I have seen him prepare charms for people. All I did was to get the eyelid of a cat, cotton, black and white thread and mixed it with my urine before I dried it up. It was the reason till date, they have not been able to arrest me or kill me. I was arrested this time because I did not come out with the charm, since there was peace among the various cult groups in the area."

According to him, he rose in ranks and was named Femi Kuti since all attempts to kill him failed.

"I am not making mouth or celebrating my success, you can ask questions. I have been shot at close range severally and stabbed without any injury. This was why they named me Femi Kuti, meaning 'he that cannot be killed'. I impressed them so much that I was later called Badoo. Normally the overall leader of the group must be a student. We that are not undergraduates are still under them but do the main hits. If there is any clash, it is people like us that are contacted to go and kill because we cannot be easily traced. The students, if caught, will be expelled and that is not good because most of them are our sponsors. They are the ones whose duty it is to sponsor the cult, that is why the leader must be a student."

Throwing more light on how they managed to initiate students, Oluwafemi said that their targets are normally boys from very rich homes.

"They love life and can be found wherever there is a party. You promise them power and security and they will gladly follow you anywhere. Just as I told you, I was lured into the bush because I thought that there was a bigger party there. We do the dirty jobs while they fund the fraternity. Most of them are the ones that are killed because they do not have the experience to protect themselves"

He admitted that he cannot remember all, but all those that were killed were young men who were members of another cult.

"Once there is a clash, they will declare war which means that that I am free to kill. They depended on me so much to deliver whenever there is a clash which is normally paid for with human blood. In 2014, I led the team that killed someone at 911 club at Ijebu-Ode, I gunned down another at Ibadan garage, I also killed one Seun along Benin expressway. I do not know where to start but to ask God to forgive me and give me another chance to live a better life. I know that I have killed more than 60 people but all of them are cultists or unclean people who must have soiled their hands one way or the other. All I want now is for God to forgive me and wash my hands clean of their blood"

On how he was arrested, Oluwafemi said he never knew that the person who was calling him on the phone was a policeman.

"They tracked me down and lured me out to the open. We were there for the Ojude Oba festival which is supposed to be peaceful. Although my boys tried their best to protect me, they were overpowered by the police who later handcuffed me. The truth is that I did not come out with my charm and besides, if there was any problem among cult members, I will not come out in the open."

On how he has survived till now, he said since his parents and grandparents were deceased, he has chosen the path of crime because he cannot be engaged in anything meaningful.

"I started selling hard drugs especially the one known as Skunk which is stronger than cocaine. Among us, it is known as bible because of the shape. I normally buy one at the cost of N15,000, I will grind and wrap it in a paper at N100 per wrap. At the end of the day, I will make about N20,000 gain from each N15,000 bible. I was also sustained by the cult because they knew the importance of having me around them.

The state police boss, who described the arrest of Oluwafemi as a major breakthrough for the command, accused him of masterminding the spate of cult related killings in Ijebu-Igbo and Ijebu-Ode axis in the last three months.

PHOTO: Governor Fayose Flat On The Floor, Tells Church ''I will not allow this position to get into my head''

Wife of the new governor of Ekiti State, Mrs Feyisetan Fayose, speaking at Deeper Life Bible Church on sunday revealed the travails she and her husband went through for eight years after they were sacked from Government House on October 16, 2006. She said:

"God revealed to me that my husband, Mr Ayodele Fayose will return as the governor, but he never told me the time. God told me that our return would be done in such a way that will beat the people's imagination. But because of the trouble we went through, at a time I prayed to God to please push my husband out of politics. Later, God told me that He will leave him there for Him to prove His power.

"After we left, Gen Tunji Olurin came, Segun Oni and come Governor Kayode Fayemi and today God has manifested His power. This is not by our power or strength, but by the grace of God."While giving his own testimony, the state Governor said he would resist any attempt by sycophants to mislead him in this second coming, which he has described as 'rare and divine.' He also stressed that he had forgiven all his enemies:

"Having a second chance is very rare. If this time has been in Bible days, my name would have been one of the names to be recorded as those who God gave a second chance. "My return to government is not common in history. It is a rare miracle. During the seven and half years of my political wilderness, I was taken to Court over what I knew and knew nothing about 59 times aside the 45 days I spent in Ikoyi Prisons during my trial by the EFCC.

"My Security aides and political aides like Chief Dayo Okondo were incarcerated for three and half years without committing any offence. I won't allow sycophants to derail me again. All my property were left in the Government House because I had to run for my dear life. So, this time my mission is to look after Ekiti people and not to fight anybody. I will not allow this position to go into my head or use it to oppress anybody. I don't have anybody in mind to punish or any political battle to fight", he added.

Kano Employs 402 Female Security Personnel

Kano State Government has employed 402 female corporate security personnel, who graduated from the State Corporate Security Training Institute.

The appointees are posted to ministries, parastatals, schools and other government agencies.

The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Corporate Security, Dr. Kabiru Kura, presented the appointment letters to the personnel yesterday at the end of a two-day drilling and re-training parade.

He said the drilling was to keep them in shape and would be continuous.

Kura said much was expected from them in view of the current security challenges, urging them to live above board.

N10bn Jet Scandal: Court okays Allison-Madueke, NNPC’s amended suit against Reps

Justice Ahmed Mohammed of the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, yesterday, granted a request by the Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs Diezani Alison-Madueke and the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, to challenge the legality of a move by the House of Representatives to hold a public hearing over allegation that N10 billion was spent on chartered jet by the Minister.

The court in a ruling yesterday, okayed an amended originating summons that was entered against the National Assembly and the House of Representatives by the plaintiffs.

Justice Mohammed said he granted the application considering that it did not in any way change the character of the claims in the original suit that was filed by the plaintiffs.

The suit is basically challenging the powers of the Public Accountability Committee, PAC, of the House of Representatives, to probe the allegation against the Minister.

At the resumed sitting on the matter yesterday, the court further dismissed contention by the House that allowing the plaintiffs to amend the original suit would amount to an abuse of judicial process, noting that it was the first time the plaintiffs are making such application since the case started.

More so, the court yesterday said it would go ahead and determine whether or not the proposed investigative public hearing by the House of Representatives is not illegal, null and void for failure to comply with the requirement of section 88 of the 1999 constitution (as amended), requiring that the resolutions in respect of such public hearings or investigations be published in the prescribed manner.

However, the court turned down a separate request by the duo of Madueke and the NNPC to further amend the suit to include seeking the pronouncement of the court on whether or not the powers conferred on the National Assembly in section 88 extend to holding hearings on petitions written against MDAs of government or carrying out oversight visits by relevant committees of the two chambers to the MDAs to conduct examination of their activities in relation to their nominal roll, budget progress reports, among others.

The court said the prayer, if granted, would change the nature of claims in the original motion before it.

It will be recalled that the high court had earlier stopped the House of Representatives from going ahead with the probe of the Minister and the NNPC over the alleged private jet scandal.

Justice Mohammed ordered the House to maintain status quo on the matter pending the determination of the suit.

Specifically, the plaintiffs are among other things, seeking, " A declaration that having regard to the provisions of Sections 88 and 89 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999, as amended and Section 8 of the Legislatives Houses (Powers and Privileges) Act Cap. L12 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2010, the Respondents or any of their Committees are precluded from summoning the Applicants to appear before them for the purpose of giving evidence and or producing any papers, books, records or other documents which relate to the unpublished official records of the applicants without the consent of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria first and obtained by the respondents or their Committees.

"A declaration that having regard to the provisions of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999, as altered, especially Sections 88 and 89 thereof, the Respondents acted ultra vires their powers and functions by sending out invitations to the Applicants and agencies under their control when such invitations are not for the purpose of enabling the Respondents make laws or correct any defect in existing laws."

They are praying the court to quash the invitation and declare that the House of Representatives lacked the powers to invite them when such invitations are not for the purpose of enabling the Respondents make laws or correct any defect in existing laws.

Meanwhile, the court yesterday adjourned the matter to November 19 for hearing.

Fake PDP Cards Dominates Ondo

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State has raised the alarm over "illegal" membership registration being carried out by some people parading themselves as chairmen and secretaries across the 203 wards.

A statement by its Chairman, Ebenezer Alabi, said: "We are aware that these elements with the support of Governor Olusegun Mimiko, who joined the party lately, are bent on obstructing the wheel of progress of the PDP in Ondo State.

"The cards and registers distributed to all the wards did not come from the national or the state secretariat. The items are fake.

"The ruling of an Abuja Federal Capital Territory High Court that the status quo should be maintained refrains anyone from taking any step that could lead to a breach of peace.

"But Mimiko and his supporters have chosen to dare the law by illegally setting up a parallel secretariat at Bishop Fagun Road, Alagbaka, Akure."

The statement urged party members to be watchful as they distance themselves from the illegal registration.

Reps approve N4,000 NYSC registration

The House of Representatives Committee on Youth Development supports the policy requiring prospective National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members to pay N4,000 to access their call-up letters online.

Committee Chairman Kamil Akinlabi, while addressing reporters said there were inherent benefits in the policy.
The lawmaker said the fund would be utilised to install equipment at NYSC offices across the country.

Kamil Akinlabi said the fund would enable the contractor handling the project to recoup his investment.

The House, a month ago, mandated its committees on Youth Development and Justice to investigate the appropriateness or otherwise of what it called "money for call-up letter policy" and report back to the House "within one month".

Hassan Saleh, who sponsored the motion, expressed dissatisfaction with the imposition of N4,000 on thousands of graduates. He urged the House to stop the "extortion".

Defending the policy, Akinlabi said: "From the outset, when the matter was brought to our attention, the first thing we felt was the way you are feeling. But after constructive engagement, we discovered that it was an innovation that we can't run away from."

"First, it was not the responsibility of the NYSC to mobilise corps members to get their call-up letters. It is the responsibility of the parents. If somebody schooled in Lagos but lives in Kano, to get his call-up letter, he has to travel to the school."

"So, you discovered that it is time-consuming, risky and expensive. What the NYSC has done is to partner a consultant, which is already handling a similar project for the Joint Admission and Matriculations Board (JAMB) and the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), which have eliminated similar risks to partner them through a public-private partnership (PPP) arrangement.
Akinlabi noted that such agreement was based on Built Operate and Transfer (BOT).

On what the terms of agreement are, he said: "The contractor would be responsible 100 per cent for the purchase and installation of every gadget that will be necessary to achieve that in the 36 state headquarters, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), in all local government headquarters as well as in all orientation camps across the country."

According to him, after the committees had looked at the various presentations, they agreed on certain aspect".

Osun to shred water from dams

The Osun State government has said it will release water from its dams to avoid collapse of the structures.

In a statement by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Sunday Akere, the government called on residents not to panic, particularly when they witness flood in communities hosting the dams.

Akere said: "Weather experts have predicted heavy rainfall as the rainy season gradually ends.

"And if the government refuses to allow the excess water to be released gradually, the heavy volume of water flow from the dams may lead to dangerous flood."

The commissioner said the heavy rainfall witnessed in the past weeks have led to excess water lodging inside the dams, warning that if the water is not released it may lead to terrible flooding.

He added that residents of Ede, Iwo, Ejigbo, Okinni and many communities around where there are dams should be aware that little floods may occur when the water would be released.

(APC) Presidential Aspirant, Mr. Sam Nda-Isaiah Seeks NYSC’s reform

Mr. Sam Nda-Isaiah, Leadership publisher and All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential aspirant, has said the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) should be reformed to achieve better results.

The publisher also hails former Head of State, Gen. Yakubu Gowon, said his a blessing to Nigeria.

Gen. Yakubu Gowon, celebrated his 80th birthday over the weekend, it was during his regime that NYSC was established.

Nda-Isaiah noted that Gen. Gowon's efforts at ensuring that the nation healed after the civil war was the reason the nation was able to embark on a gradual recovery and prevent a reoccurrence of the war.

The politician said the NYSC had served its purpose and needed to be reformed to meet the nation's challenges.

The Kakaaki Nupe said unemployment and insecurity in the land were among the biggest issues on the front burner.

He said the NYSC should be used to find solutions to those problems.

Nda-Isaiah suggested that the NYSC should incorporate a two-year compulsory military service into its programme for graduates to enable the nation fortify its national security and increase its defence and readiness for war.

The presidential aspirant noted that figures from the security situation had put the numerical strength of military personnel at a little over 300,000.

He said this was inadequate to protect a large country like Nigeria.
